OH MY GOSH I FINALLY DID IT.
Spoilers: go away and come back when you're done with the experience of new implementations.
Implementations:
- Offscreen tile clipping system - object clipping will be implemented later
- Tile grouping generator
- Ambient occlusion generator
- Wall/"ceiling" generator and layer fading system
- Object layering
- Items show in inventory
- Shoes
- Grew Angell's nails - luckily I remembered just in time that the only reason I didn't have long nails was because I kept cutting them
- Scene system - just added the sky clock
- Event/memory system
- Working stamina system
- Angell description thoughtlines - come on, you knew I was gonna do it to ya
(you probably didn't) - Caption system with audio checkpoints
- Pause menu
- Working resume button
- Developer tools key - now the logs and some other meta graphics and functions are hidden unless you press it
- Audio distance volume - I don't have time to test logarithms and Desmos stuff at the moment so I'll change it later
- More minor secrets
Replacements:
- Changed VERSION counter - now it says "VERSION 0.2" instead of "VERSION 0.1"
- Changed map loading system - still needs buffing though...I'll recheck Griffpatch's tutorials later
- Fused user interface with pause screen
- Stamina bar now functions - other bars won't conform to camera shake forever
- Lower three bars shifted to the left - now all of the bars have their colour inversions over/under them, and the blood bar is at the right
- Made Cody generally less noisy
- Changed document
- Changed soundtrack
Rectifications:
- Fixed canvas size - now it has exactly a 400×300 resolution while appearing at 800×600, rather than using upscaling and rounding, so all manipulations will be pixel-perfect. I haven't tested if changing it with JavaScript would change it functionally or just stylistically.
- Fixed 0.5 pixel clipping while walking
- Normalised diagonal travel speed - now you can't speedwalk at √2× speed. Apparently still needs fixing though.
- Rehauled audio system
- Fixed centre bar boundaries
- Managed to get Angell to stop shrugging
- Systematised file names
- Changed all .OGG extensions to .ogg extensions - peace out you useless convolutions
